The project is seen as a flagship example of government initiatives in the use of sustainable building and planning approaches in the reconstruction of downtown office buildings. WZMH is working closely with ORC to upgrade the existing building to AAA office standards, achieving LEED Gold with optional upgrades to LEED Platinum. The design is intended to improve the working environment through increased penetration of natural light, interconnected floors and a generous feature lobby and entrance canopy. A skylight over the escalator core allows natural daylight penetration.
