Informed by the rich architecture of the restored 1912 bank building that is integrated into the base of the new structure, the design of the project features robust aluminum clad columns that create a sense of dramatic verticality on the prime building façades. The metal and glass clad tower is crowned with a curving sculptural roof; a silhouette that makes a unique statement on the downtown skyline.
Anchoring the project to the Queen St. / Yonge St. corner, the heritage bank building is a model case of adaptive reuse, providing new ground floor retail space, and access to the Queen subway station and the PATH underground pedestrian network.
The 19 floor tower provides 37,000 m² of new office space.
