Clad in Napoleon red granite, Scotia Plaza, the headquarters of the Bank of Nova Scotia, provides a welcome addition to the palette of the city’s downtown. Folds in the building massing create a slender proportion on the north and south faces of the tower, contributing a sense of dramatic verticality at the heart of Toronto’s financial core. A soaring 11-storey atrium links the office tower with an historic limestone building, the original headquarters for the bank, and forms an impressive new entrance to the bank branch. Below grade, a pedestrian concourse connects the development with the extensive Toronto underground PATH system of retail and subway stations.
The $350M, 68 storey tower provides 220,000 sf of office space. Parking for 450 cars is provided below grade.
