Forming a gateway to the special Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone, the Shanghai Pudong Development Bank (SPDB) is a prominent addition to the Pudong new development area in central Shanghai. Above a grand entrance arch that faces the street intersection, a central shaft of slender vertical fins rises up the building, culminating in a roof top lantern. Located adjacent to two other WZMH buildings, at the apex of a triangular city block, the granite clad tower exhibits a distinctive geometry reminiscent of historic flat iron buildings.
The $75M, 71,000 m², 36 storey structure houses bank offices, office apartments and a conference floor. An eight storey podium contains a major banking hall and restaurant facilities. Three below-grade levels provide parking for 180 cars.
