A three-storey high, 70m long atrium at the heart of this project provides a staff amenity to offset the long harsh Canadian winters. The atrium is animated with cafeteria seating and breakout spaces, and will serve as a venue for staff “town hall” meetings. Maximizing flexibility, the office component is a simple uninterrupted rectangle with “outboard” cores.
A silver aluminum “picture” frame floats above the main entrance, containing the tinted green glass of the office space above.
This highly secure 30,000 m² facility has a three-storey 9,000 m² office component and a one-storey, 5,600 m² data centre served by a large utilities building. Data centre systems are designed to handle high-energy loads and provide significant redundancy.
