Carl Blanchaer OAA, FRAIC

Carl Blanchaer has served as Design Principal on many of the most important WZMH projects of the past two decades. His recent work exhibits a broad range of building types encompassing commercial, hospitality and institutional projects including two major corporate facilities for IBM Canada.

Carl believes that being true to a building’s needs and the opportunities that its site presents will lead to a unique architecture for every project. He strives to create rich and inspiring environments within which people can live and work using appropriately scaled spaces, an economy of detail, and a sensitively crafted colour and material palette.

Carl graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Environmental studies in 1971 and a Masters of Architecture in 1978. He joined WZMH in 1981 after working for the IKOY Partnership in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He became a Principal in 1988.
