Medhat Abdou, a Principal in the firm for over 22 years, has been the Managing Principal for many of the firm’s largest projects in Canada, the United States and the Mideast. Over the last 15 years he has been responsible for the development of the Middle Eastern market for WZMH and as a result of his efforts, there are more than 20 buildings designed by the firm that are either built or under construction in the region.
Medhat believes in the importance of the architect’s role to provide leadership and guidance for multi-disciplinary teams working on complex projects. He is “hands on” and engaged in every step of the design process. He challenges preconceptions and analyzes each situation from first principles.
Mr. Abdou graduated from Cairo University with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1964. He joined WZMH in 1969 and became a Principal in 1985.
