Located adjacent to the existing Administrative Headquarters, and linked to it by a bridge, the ACA and its surrounding landscaped plazas will establish a civic anchor within this significant government precinct.

The building features “H”-shaped floor plates wrapped around an eight storey atrium that provides access to daylight and views for occupants and visitors. A planted living wall within the atrium and eastward views through a large glazed feature window to Yonge Street beyond will orient visitors circulating within the facility.

The building achieves high levels of workplace efficiency with the majority of staff in open-plan workstations adjacent to windows, with good access to light, and views. The building is designed to the highest standards of energy efficiency and sustainability to showcase York Region’s environmental stewardship.

As the first phase of a master plan for a 15-acre site within the Newmarket Urban Growth Centre, the new ACA building  consolidates a variety of York Region public services under one roof, and includes a second floor dedicated to a Provincial Offences Act courthouse.
