WZMH takes part in Economic Developers Council of Ontario Conference
WZMH Principal Zenon Radewych recently participated in a panel discussing opportunities for data centres in smaller communities across Ontario as part of the Economic Developers Council of Ontario Conference. Zenon fielded questions from many municipal government officials enquiring how the data centres could be integrated into their business parks and communities.
Q: Why might data centre owners be interested in your community and why you should be interested in them?
A: Data centres are an emerging asset class in the Canadian market and billions of dollars are flowing into data centre investments across the country. Few at the municipal level have direct experience with data centres. In this session, moderator Randy Borron provided an introduction to data centres and discussed what they do, the site selection process and what infrastructure they require. The panel discussed the specific benefits that data centres bring to a community and why smaller cities and regions might want to attract investment and development.
