WZMH Architects unique solution to restore Ukraine’s war-torn housing

The war in Ukraine has damaged thousands of buildings, SPEEDSTAC could save them. The prefabricated/modular building block solution was developed in our Sparkbird R&D lab in collaboration with Eric Sommer, Stephenson Engineering Ltd., and Quasar Consulting Group. SPEEDSTAC provides an innovative and cost-effective formula for salvaging thousands of structures across Ukraine that have been partially or fully destroyed during the war. Damaged buildings, often built as pre-war standardized structures, may be repaired with full-size prefabricated building blocks spliced into place, grafting new apartments onto old ones, and saving whole buildings from demolition.
