Carl has served as Design Principal on many of the most important WZMH projects of the past three decades, including RBC WaterPark Place and Nova Scotia Power Corporate Headquarters. His recent work exhibits a broad range of building types encompassing commercial, hospitality and institutional projects, including two major corporate facilities for IBM Canada. Carl believes that being true to a building’s needs and the opportunities that its site presents leads to unique architecture for every project. He strives to create rich and inspiring environments within which people can live and work using appropriately scaled spaces, an economy of detail and a sensitively crafted colour and material palette. He joined WZMH in 1981 after working for the IKOY Partnership in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He became a Principal in 1988. Carl graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Environmental Studies and a Masters of Architecture.
