The 2801 Jane Street redevelopment envisages the insertion of a new rental building for Starlight Investments into an existing neighbourhood.

The site contains an existing 17 storey rental slab tower set back from the street and surrounded by open space. The proposed building is 11 storeys with 221 new units and creates a more urban street edge on Jane with an indoor and outdoor amenity area at grade to animate the adjacent sidewalk. The building massing is carefully articulated on the Jane Street side in order to reduce impact of scale and provide visual interest. The building also steps at the back to the east in order to reduce shadowing on an adjacent school playing field and low rise neighbourhood. New ground related units, enhanced landscaping at grade, lighting and outdoor furniture provides eyes on the street, elimination of “dead space” and improved public realm.
