The WZMH master plan for the Canadian headquarters campus for this global pharmaceutical company included manufacturing and distribution warehouse facilities located in a number of buildings and a new administrative facility to accommodate staffing projections through 2020.
Phase 1 of the Canadian Business Centre project involved the consolidation and expansion of on-site administrative functions into a five-storey building that includes a large full-height central atrium. This building is linked to an existing multi-use building by means of a two-storey galleria that serves as an interior amenity and circulation space, as well as a visitor reception area. A one-storey glazed walkway provided weather-protected access to the manufacturing building.
Phase 2 incorporated three major components in a single consolidated facility: a Cafeteria/Servery; Fitness/Wellness Centre; and Auditorium/Conference Centre.. The curved, playful forms of the new facility, combined with the light, silver-coloured metal panels and large glass surfaces continues the precedent established in Phase 1.
