Emergency Management Ontario (EMO), within the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, is responsible for the overall coordination and management of emergency situations in the Province of Ontario. EMO, along with the Offices of Ontario Fire Marshal, occupies a major part of the second and fifth floors of the Forensic Services and Coroner’s Complex. The design includes space for the Office of the Chief, Program Support, Planning and Program Development, Program Delivery and Operations.

The Provincial Emergency Operations Centre (PEOC) design includes a large operation room and adjacent supporting services that may be used 24/7 during an operation. This includes space for the Office of the Chief, Program Support, Planning and Program Development, Program Delivery and Operations. The PEOC is equipped with the latest audio-visual, communication and broadcasting technology. It includes a ninety-foot-long display wall and numerous LED screens that are linked directly to the operation room to receive real-time information. The design of the PEOC also incorporates several meeting tables allowing for a flexible arrangement of groups to be formed as required for emergency or non-emergency functions.
