WZMH is Architect of Record working with U.S. based Architects Studio Gang on One Delisle, a proposed iconic mixed-use residential tower landmark. The building is 48 storeys high located at the southwest corner of Yonge and Delisle Avenue with a tower composed of 8-storey-high elongated hexagonal modules arranged in a honeycomb pattern. A two-storey base creates a human scale at the sidewalk level, while the tower's shape transforms from a square base to a 16-module rounded peak for panoramic views. The nested hexagonal exterior modules have been shaped to create a variety of unit types and balconies of different depth for wind and sun protection throughout the year.

The building will be the first step towards a more comprehensive vision for the neighborhood. The pedestrian environment and human scale are important components of this ambitious plan to improve the streetscape around Yonge and St. Clair to create a more inviting and walkable neighborhood while retaining the two-storey datum line of historical storefront. Further combining the vehicular entrance for neighboring buildings will help the pedestrian environment at street level. This development will be pursuing Tier 2 Toronto Green Standard with an intent to explore renewable energy sources.
