Scotiabank, Liberty Village

Toronto, Ontario
430 m2 | 4,600 ft2
Scope of Service:
Full Architectural Services

The Liberty Village Scotiabank is a full-service branch located in a heritage brick building that was originally designed and built in 1910 as a boiler house. WZMH created a design for this flagship branch that enhances the existing historic architecture while providing a contemporary banking setting.

The project exposes the refurbished original brick, decorative black aluminum open ceiling grilles, and new walls designed in keeping with the character of the building. A new roof structure was installed with four skylights that, along with new 4.5 m vision glass windows framed by black mullions, provide an abundance of natural light and highlight the building’s unique architectural details. The resulting interior provides an exceptional workspace and customer relations environment.
